PETA or People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals have uncovered and rescued 26,000 mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from the U.S. Global Exotics Company.
This company was acting as a front for distributing rare animals around the world, including some that are close to extinctions. Thanks to the wonderful people at PETA they filmed the horrifying treatment of our wonderful animal friends
and free them.
For years the company had been importing and exporting hundreds of thousands of animals every year for sale to pet stores and store chains around the world including a U.S. based retail store PETCO and PetSmart.
A PETA undercover reporter spent seven months working at a U.S. Global Exotics and documented the horrifying cruelty exerted on our beautiful animal friends.
It was discovered that of the 26,000 animals released were from all over the world including wallabies, sloths, ringtail lemurs, kinkajous, coatimundis, agoutis, hedgehogs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, flying squirrels, guinea pigs, sugar gliders, prairie dogs, ferrets, snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, spiders, crabs, and scorpions from this facility.
This is believed to be the largest release in history.
