I tried hard to make this weeks editorial a little less serious. Upon reflection on the previous Editors Notes, I realised that I have been writing about some pretty heavy issues. I thought to myself, 'I think this week should be a little less serious, and more fun.'
I had good intentions, though by the time you finish reading this
you might not have the feeling that this editorial was light hearted. I tried.
All too easily can we see the negativity of this world. But recently something caught my eye that made me feel so happy to call myself a Human. I witnessed another person helping another; the joy experienced by that person was so beautiful.
They were so happy that someone took the time out of their day to stop and pay acknowledgment for the helping hand.
This then kick started a chain of chemical reactions in my brain. From witnessing one persons good deed, it made me feel a little better inside.
Can you imagine, one good deed has the ability to uplift the spirits of all people around. How amazing - something so small, yet so powerful.
Hence, this got me thinking about the magic of helping a person in need. Which in turn, changed my mindset completely at looking at this world as a negative place, as a place of opportunity and grace.
If we all take the time to help those around us, we have the ability to change the atmosphere of our Home into one of beauty, peace and Heaven.
Can you imagine having Heaven on Earth....oh - it is certainly a dream I enjoy taking with me every night.
But I also realised that sometimes you can see so much suffering in this world, that what can you really do.
Believe me, I have had this thought since I was about 5! Something that has been with me for a long time.
Only recently have I discovered that this world can assist you; can convince you of anything that you want it to - if you think that it is too hard, well, guess what - you have just convince yourself that it is.
Then you forget to do anything about it - then in a week's time you feel that same old depressing feeling again.
The point of that little rant is - if you see suffering where you are. Be it in your family, your friends, your neighbour, the person walking down the street. Please stop and give them a hand.
Put yourself in there position and ask how you would feel if that was you.
And here is the clincher - if you think that it is too hard. Step up and do it anyway; because if you can, I guarantee you feel a reward unimaginable in this world. You feel like you are in Heaven.
