I like bringing you little stories as to how I found inspiration in this most majestic world that we call Home.
This week, it come to me as a bolt of lightning, as one our very good friends to Vegan Era made a comment about Abraham Lincoln (it was actually in relation to one of the CREW striking an amazing similarity to the great
man). This in turn got me thinking about the common grounds that we today stand and that in which President Lincoln stood over 100 years ago.
Briefly, for those of you who are not aware, President Lincoln abolished slavery. At the time, it was deemed right and just to treat a fellow human with total disrespect that you could whip and torture them if they did not do as you please.
At the time, people were up in arms and thought President Lincoln was out of his mind.
"In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free - honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just - a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless."
When we look back in history we do not note the riots that took place when people wanted to stop President Lincoln in implementing this law. No; we see the great man - the visionary that President Lincoln was.
He gave freedom to those that we were in need.
(If you can watch it - this is why we do what we do....I couldn't finish watching this; the tears were too much)
Today - it is the same. Our fellow brothers and sisters that are caught in the chain of slavery must be freed.
Our beautiful animal friends are caught in a vicious cycle of birth and death. They are raised to be slaughtered.
All for what - to feed us. We have enough food on this Earth to feed the entire population.
In fact, if our wonderful Human friends were to stop factory farming - there would be enough grain to feed the world for the next 50 years. No one would be hungry.
Herein lies the problem, this grain is constantly being feed to animals for slaughter in a very energy consumptive manner.
We have to act with bravery and bring freedom to those that can not. We have to share our voice with the world to free our beautiful animal friends, to enlighten thier compassionate nature and bring a stop to slavery.
Please pray to Heaven for Humans to understand that we do not need to kill to survive. We only have to turn to our beautiful compassionate nature - then we will realise how amazing we are, and want to save and nurture life; just like a mother to a new born baby.
