You don't have to look far in this world to see negative news. All you have to do is turn on your TV, open the paper or turn on your computer. Unfortunately, for the time being that is the world that we are apart of.
But it is not all bad, there are many glimpses of Hope and Love emitting from our fellow Humans.
It isthere, with pockets of Human's mixing all around us; but sometimes we have to look for it. This story in particular touched me, and all the CREW at Vegan Era.
Academy Award winning actor Mr. Sean Penn, is one of these amazing people doing extraordinary work. Shining their True Spirit for the world to see. The Love that he has for those in need is endless; and it is truly beautiful.
In the wake of one of the most devastating natural events our world has witnessed - many people rushed to help. It was so amazing to see the world come together and help those in need. You could really see our Heavenly Spirit shine.
One man in particular though is allowing his Love and Light to shine for the whole world to see. For Mr. Penn; he has not left Haiti since the disaster has happened.
When people have come and gone - for this beautiful man; he is staying there constantly helping those in need. Constantly raising awareness for relief that a country still needs.
Mr. Penn lives in a tent in the middle of all refugees. He lives, and breathes what Haitians are going through. He knows first hand how horrifying the events still are there.
Mr. Penn re-tell a story of a young Haitian boy that contracted diphtheria, an acutely infectious disease spread through respiratory droplets.
In Mr. Penn's words;
"This country is not ready for an emergency," he says.
"Three months in and nobody in the major hospitals knew where to find the immunoglobulin. That kinda says it all to me."
Penn is hardly new to heroic endeavors. He's flown to the eye of a hurricane, to the front lines of war. A few years back, he traveled to Iraq and Iran and wrote about both countries for the San Francisco Chronicle.
He was in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina -- his right arm bears a tattoo that says: "NOLA, Deliver Me."
Today Mr. Penn has established an organization that wear navy blue shirts with the J/P HRO logo loudly emblazoned -- and answer only to Penn.
Void of the bureaucracy common at the United Nations and other major humanitarian agencies, Penn says his J/P HRO, is often able to get things done faster.
The group's work began in the weeks after the quake with the disbursal of critically needed aid. Then Penn noticed the tremendous need at the crowded golf club camp, one of the city's largest and completely vulnerable to rain and treacherous mudslides.
It is beautiful to see that in this in the world - in all the negativity; there is still Lights of Love.
Be that beacon of Hope and Love for the rest of the world.
