week's blog of reading Alicia Silverstones book "The Kind Diet." Alicia talks about sugar being like crack to our bodies and I can seriously vouch for that! I have known for quite some time I was addicted, and that book was a positive shift for me, as hopefully for all you blog reading sugar addicts, this message may be for you. If you do consume alot of sugar in your diet and you notice you crave it, there's no time like the now to simply stop! It sucks the vitamins |

and minerals from your blood and bones, puts you on an emotional roller coaster if you don't get enough, and it is associated with many cancers and diabetes due to the excess insulin your body has to cope with! To top it all off, sugar is hailed an "ANTINUTRIENT" Why would you want to put an 'antinutrient' into your body?
So, if you do decide to delete sugar from your diet, you're body will let you know by feeling some of the following;
- Unspeakable tiredness
- Really big mood swings
- One 48 hour continuous headache
- NIL energy
- Extremely unmotivated!!
I could not believe it! I am usually an energitic movitated children's entertainer and here I was like a vague lifeless zombie!! I am not exaggerating when I say this! I had to get out of bed, pack a car with musical equipment, drive, set up and perform just like any other day...and for the first time in 7 years I felt like "I cannot do this!!" But the show must go on....and there is light at the end of the tunnel is it has now been one week and I feel amazing! I have more energy than ever and I just feel fantastic and the cravings have gone! I really was hopelessly addicted....whether it be orange juice, 2 sugars in my coffees, vegan chocoate and sweets, gelati.....you name it with sugar in it, and I craved and ate it!

I don't think we realise how much sugar we eat and crave every day, or if we even notice that we are addicted to the "white powder!"
Here are a few tips to use if you want to take the no sugar plunge and feel fantastic:
- Cleanse your body each morning with lemon juice in water
- Organise water to be on hand all the time to drink
- Avoid sugary drinks/foods in your fridge
- Drink herbal tea instead of coffee
- Cut up fruit for your cereals
- Instead of the habitual ice-cream at night cut up an apple
- Buy Alicia Silverstone's book "The Kind Diet" and start being kinder to your body
- Even my skin has changed to a clear complexion! So this week I would like to say
"GOOD-BYE SUGAR!!' I don't miss you!
