Hallo Readers; The meat industry must really be in a |
|
 |
panic! I know so many people going vegan these days, and many more who are eating less meat due to the effect the meat industry has on climate change. My mum called me last week saying that she is going to go vegetarian as she feels better with no meat in her bodys This is a 67 year old nurse, raised on a Toowoomba farm who has been debating the need for meat to be in the human diet with her daughter for the past 10 years. |
|
I have taken her to seminars, vegan movie nights, she has listened to me talk about animal cruelty and the link meat has to many illnesses and in our many discussions she was adamant humans need meat!
Maybe she has realised in the past 10 years that her daughter is still healthy, energetic and still breathing without the help of any animal products. Infact everyone around me seems to pick up flu's and viruses all the time and yet I rarely get sick! Touching woo.
I remember years ago when I worked in a childcare centre where we had a lethal virus that hit our children, staff and families so bad, that the health department was called in to fumigate the place!! At the end of the saga my boss turned around and said "Renata...you never had a day off...were you sick on a weekend?" The truth was, I never got infected, and I was almost vegan at the time! So out the window with the myth that vegans are sickly!
Mum has asked me to be her mentor and help her at the supermarket and with recipes...which by the way I am happy to do for anyone who is thinking of changing their diet and would like some advice and support!
I also have a friend with cancer who has gone vegan after advice from specialists to heal the naturalistic way and not feed the cancer with meat products. This man is in his fifties and was a big meat eater...and already he looks so much healthier! And just the other day in a vegan restaurant a stranger communicated to me how he was a chronic type 2 diabetes in need of insulin every day. Since he turned vegan he said he no longer needs any medication!
So it's all A++++ positives for the vegan diet, there are no negatives, and you can change your diet easily by buying a vegan cookbook, googling vegan recipes online and getting yourself a vegan mentor like myself to help you make the transition.
In the meantime, here is a recipe to start you off!
