In 2008, Lauren Bush was best known for her FEED bags. |
|
 |
At the time, Lauren made famous the first family--sustainable fashion line. Now known as Lauren Pierce, she has launched a new product range that is taking the world by storm. Re-creating some of the past fashion icons, and in particular the very free, and fun loving era of tie-dye is making a dramatic come back. |

| The Atelier spring 2010 collection premiered at Barney, New York was a little more than your average launch of a new collection.
Needless to say there was your who's who of fashion, politics and high flyers on hand. There was also a very earthy edge incorporated into the event.
Keeping with the theme of eco, freedom, peace and love - THe Atelier collection also gave guests the chance to re-create their own piece of fashion.
The concept was to allow people to choose their own fabric, then design a one-of, unique creation that was there own.
This way in helped people understand the process that goes into making the materials, and designing the garments.

Not only is it produced in New York using sustainable and organic fabrics such as hemp silk, bamboo, and organic cotton but several of the designs are hand-dyed by women living in the Democratic Republic of Congo, part of a program called Women for Women International.
This has a been an initiative developed by Lauren Pierce, to help create work and a purpose for women living in countries stricken by poverty,
By creating a label that showcases the benefits of using organic materials, and earth friendly dyes - the project is helping to reveal the need for fashion icons to take a responsible stance in protecting our environment.
Through loving actions by people such as Lauren Pierce, it is hoped that one day we all live in a Peaceful and Healthy world.
Be Love; Be Peace; Be Vegan. |
