| Oprah, Tyra, and Michelle Obama Are 'Fur-Free and Fabulous' |
 |
What do Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, and first lady Michelle Obama have in common?
Besides being among the most stylish and influential women in America, they all refuse to wear real fur.
That's right, these amazing, beautiful women are all adopting the compassion fashion stance |

and loving animals rather than harming them for comfort.
That's why PETA is saluting these "fur-free and fabulous" women in a new poster now appearing in metro stations in Washington, D.C. PETA has debuted the ad as part of its "Make D.C. Fur-Free" campaign.
Tyra Banks first renounced fur 15 years ago when she modeled a faux-fur hat, complete with a "no fur" button, for PETA's catalog.
Oprah, who refuses to wear real fur or feature it in O magazine, was named PETA's Person of the Year in 2008 for her efforts to educate her millions of viewers about the cruelty of puppy mills and factory farms.
And earlier this year, Michelle Obama's deputy press secretary, Semonti Mustaphi, confirmed that "Mrs. Obama does not wear fur." |

"Being fur-free is fabulous because an important part of what you wear is showing that you care," says PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews. "By rejecting fur, these style icons demonstrate to the world that fur is old-fashioned and cruel."
What makes being fur-free so fabulous? Not only does it spare animals the agony of being trapped, drowned, factory farmed, and even skinned alive--as PETA undercover investigators have documented on Chinese fur farms--choosing natural fibers and faux over real pelts also leaves a far smaller carbon footprint.
Thank you First Lady Michelle Obama, beautiful Tyra Banks and fabulous Oprah for your message of compassion and life saving endevours.
We pray that your loving ideals will spread throughout the world and be adopted by all Humans on this beautiful Planet.
