Some of the recycled items that have been used in Mother Maria garments include sheets, pillow cases, curtains, doona covers, buttons, zips, outdoor furniture fabrics and even wire and wood!
The name ‘Mother Maria’ comes from Katie’s dedication of her work to her late Polish Grandmother who led a brave life through WWII, immigrated to Australia, had six children and worked hard each day to give them the chance they deserved in this new country.
Mother Maria has featured in magazines such as Marie Claire, Peppermint Mag, Cleo, Clay Magazine, Affair Magazine and Girlfriend Magazine, just to name a few.
The winter 2010 collection, Parisienne, is in stores now and is available online at www.mothermaria.com.au. It includes gorgeous stripes, the cutest shorts, pretty bows, vintage fabric adornments, organic cotton and full skirts.
