Vegan Era  Organic fruit and veg is tastier, healthier, better for the environment and well, just cooler. Most people these days are aware that organic foods are generally better for you than non-organic foods. In case you are still wondering why, this is because they have far higher nutrient, vitamin and mineral content and are free from
harmful pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and artificial fertilizer chemicals. AND they taste better! Truly, try eating an organic banana and a supermarket banana at the same time - there is a huge difference. The supermarket banana usually looks prettier and twice the size, but it lacks a lot of the goodness. So sneaky!

So if you are going to be a good little girl or boy and eat your fruit and veg, you might as well make sure you are eating the good stuff!

It doesn't have to cost too much either - if you buy your organic fruit and veg from a certified organic stall at your local farmer's markets you will find that it's not expensive at all. I usually fill a box at the Eumundi Markets in South-East Queensland for around $30 and that will last at least a week.

For information on your local organic shop or markets in Australia, check out this fabulous blog by our Nutrition Expert (the other Amanda): lettucefeast.blogspot.com

Now enjoy this video of me going organic shopping!! It includes a couple of markets, tips from an organic farmer about how to choose the best produce and a trip to an organic farm.

By eating locally grown, plant-based whole foods we can really help out Mother Earth. Be love - Be peace - Be vegan; Save Our Home.
